If you ever asked how do we know this about and ancient world read this book and it will let you to look into how historians and archeologist work. I really liked that most of the claims was backed by the chain from what we found where, how it all connects, what we can say for sure and what are the things we are only guessing. On the other hand I do not remember that much about the main thesis form the book. Nevertheless it is the book to read when you want to peek under the hood of how the archeology is done.
